Multi Purpose Chemical

Bio

Multi Purpose Chemical take on the tiresome metal scene with two fists in the air, one foot on the ground and a kick in the face. Described as Liverpool's most entertaining live band (Gigwise.com), it won't be long before MPC are regarded as being one of the best live bands nationwide. American Andres Lefevre (Vocals) and Southern Englishman Rob Hoey (Guitar) originally met in Italy, and decided to start a band in Liverpool. It was here that they teamed up with Glaswegian Ross McFarlane (Drums) and Mancunian Jim Wilson (Bass) to complete the line up.

After a handful of well received demos and a string of near legendary live performances including slots with Million Dead, Reuben and The Mad Capsule Markets, the band signed with Honey Records at the tail end of 2004 and recorded the Cult E.P, produced by Ace (ex Skunk Anansie). Foot stomping riffs, hard hitting lyrics and a positive outlook make up the Multi Purpose Chemical cocktail. It's a unique mix which shows that this multi-cultural band are all about entertainment.

Musically, they lie somewhere between Soulfly, System Of A Down, Poison The Well and Rage Against The Machine, with dashes of Cypress Hill and the occasional chilled funk salsa vibe thrown in for good measure. Lyrically, there is most definitely a strong message that stresses positive action as opposed to senseless whining. MPC demonstrate, with consummate flair, that rocking out as hard as humanly possible can be all about sweating and smiling as much as it can be about hating your parents.
