The Utopians

Bio

Nick Carlisle - Vocals, electric guitar, synthesizers, programming

Gavin Addison - Backing vocals, fuzz-bass guitar, monosynth

The Utopians (formerly The Uterus Women) are a two-piece Brighton-based musical act who use their electric guitars and monosynths to create visceral punk pop the likes of which you haven’t heard since you had your gallstones removed.

During 2003 and some of 2004 Nick Carlisle (ex of Belfast’s hardest electro band The Feline Dream) recorded the first Utopians CD City Super Women (a 6 track mini album available March 1st 2004) with Gregory Ferguson of Jupiter Ace fame.

The music contained on the release has been compared on the net with that of Iggy Pop, John Lydon, The Fall, Kraftwerk and Daft Punk.

As Gregory is far too busy with his own projects he will not be a full time utopian, and his place has been taken by Nick’s wretched drinking buddy Gavin Addison.
