Bio
Pure and simple.
They take their influences from all areas of rock music, punk, grunge, hardcore, old school and metal, early influences came from Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Pearl Jam, more recently, Glassjaw, Thursday and At The Drive In.
Three guys…
Kris Watson.. Guitar/vocals
Shaun Dearie.. Drums/vocals
Steven Patillo.. Bass
In Kris they have a frontman and composer of outstanding ability. His skill and energy onstage is entertaining and compelling, his job is made all the easier by Shaun and Steven, a rhythm section of metronomic stability and ground-shaking power.
Playing, hook-laden, guitar-driven, riff-heavy rock music, every song awash with melody and style, and played with passion and energy like every gig could be their last.
Although young, Alyssa’s Wish have been playing together for four years, a name change (December '02) and a stand-in bass player for a few months while Steven took “a little break” being the only flies in this band's otherwise perfect ointment.
The band's stunning live show has been developed over the years playing hundreds of gigs in their home town of Aberdeen and other cities in Scotland. The band's legion of devoted fans ensure a busy night for any of the local gigs, and high profile touring acts have their work cut out to outshine these young upstarts.
Alyssa’s Wish have supported:
Capdown, Reuben, This Girl, and Fony amongst others.
Their debut CD release, 'This is not an Exit' was a self-financed gem only available at 1-Up records in Aberdeen and through the band, it was released under their old name of Liber8 and outsold everything in 1-Up records for several weeks…
Gigging highlights for the band include playing to thousands of music-starved fans in Belarus in the old Soviet Union. This was a life-changing experience for this young band, having to be escorted by the army for their own protection is not something most bands experience.
The plan for 2003 is to play gigs, some more gigs, and even more gigs, so the chances are that Alyssa’s Wish will be gracing a venue near you fairly soon.
Another CD release is on the cards and work progresses on a promotional video which should be finished soon.
