Black Cross were formed from the ashes of two of Louisville's best-known bands, By The Grace of God and The National Acrobat. Originally known as Black Widows (under which name they released their debut EP 'Black Widows Stops a Beating Heart'), they were forced to change their name in 2002, shortly after signing to Equal Vision.
