Bio
Dharma consists of 4 people, Dan Cleary (lead vocals, guitar), Andy Harris (Bass, backing vocals), John Deniel (Lead Guitar) and Andy Harland (Drums), all of whom live near Southampton. They have all played instruments from a young age.
Dharma's founder members are Dan Cleary and Andy Harris. They both met at school where they wrote songs and performed as a duo on many occasions. As they have played together from a young age, a good musical understanding has formed between them.
There were a few failed attempts at bands, until they met Andy Harland, and the picture began to look more complete.
The three friends jammed together on various occasions, and the whole thing felt like a natural progression. Work began on getting some material together, ready to begin gigging.
However, there was always something missing. The songs lacked the cutting edge that they could so easily achieve.
It was around this time that the three musicians thought of recruiting John Deniel, a friend from college who shared similar views with regards to music and ambition.
The complete line-up finally emerged and songs began to live up to their potential. The band now has material ready, and gigs on the horizon. They are all strong believers in REAL music and appreciate work by Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and other bands that make music enriched with energy and heart-felt emotion.
