Bio
As I Own Kings stride through the dustbowl of U.K rock, Stooges blasting one ear, the Ronettes the other, all tooled up with floor-shakers and anthems-in-waiting it is clear that something new and beautiful is afoot.
What began as a meeting of songwriting minds over a hot computer and humming amp a couple of years ago very quickly came to require a live manifestation and gigs have gotten done with the likes of Seafood, Crackout, Jetplane Landing, Misty’s Big Adventure, McClusky and Clor.
I Own Kings have also dipped their toes into the briny seas of promotion with rock n' disco parties and a raucous gig-on-a-boat with four hundred of their closest friends and the musical support of S. Rock Levinson and the Loose Salute.
Positive reviews were gratefully received and a couple of plays on Xfm for some early demos spurred the band onwards, a successful branching out into acoustica followed with stripped down shows at the Kashmir club, the Bedford and other songwriting nights around town.
Having spoiled London (and as much of the rest of the country as they could get their hands on) for other bands forever, the future was all about new songs and I Own Kings retreated to their songwriting hut where they wrote and recorded an album, "The Amplifier Heart" a typically bold set containing the instant late-night classic "Lemonade" and the bohemian rhapsody-like "Smile".
