Who are Janus Stark?

Gizz Butt (real name: Graham Butt) is the main songwriter, singer and lead guitar player of Janus Stark. Gizz is from Manchester and later moved to Peterborough and started to play in bands when he was 13 years old. He played in bands like Wardance and the Destructors (where he was referred to as 'Gizzard') and very early joined a punk band called the English Dogs but they split again after. In the next years Gizz played in many many bands and became an amazing guitarist and at some point reformed The English Dogs again. In 96 The Prodigy recruited Gizz as new live guitarist and for 3 years he toured the world with them. Nowadays Gizz puts all his energy into Janus Stark. Gizz is also famous for his always changing haircolours!

Shops real name is Swapan Nandi, but I have never heard anyone calling him by this name. He is the bass player of Janus Stark and also does backing vocals. Shop was a member of the English Dogs, together with Gizz and Pinch in an always changing line-up before he became a founding member of Janus Stark in '96.

Pinch's real name is Andrew Pinching. He was a member of the English Dogs and a founding member of Janus Stark. Due to bad behaviour at the kerrang! awards, he was fired in August '99 and is now the drummer of The Damned! Together with Wakey from English Dogs he has a punkband called 'The Wernt' which released an album called 'Wreckin Temples' which I can highly recommend you to buy!

Carl Alty is the new Janus Stark drummer who replaced Pinch. Carl is from Liverpool but lives in London now. He used to play in an indie band called 'Half Man Half Biscuit' before he joined 'Joyrider'. He joined Janus Stark in September 99 and played the first gig with them 6th October 99 in Watford. Carl Alty left Janus Stark in January 2001 due to work commitments.

Gavin King is the 2nd guitarplayer when Janus Stark play live at most of their gigs. His main band are Speedurchin, but he also plays with other bands like The Wernt (Pinchs band) or Road Rage.

Ben Calbert is the new drummer replacing Carl. Very little is known about him yet, but he's going to play his first gig with janus Stark shortly.
