Kutosis are a young, angular, awkward band with a big noise and a lot to say for themselves. Raised in the murky depths of Cardiff, their frenetic gigs, intelligent lyrics and huge choruses helped them quickly build up a following. While some might spot the influence of local boys, Manic Street Preachers, in their lyrical concerns (American cultural imperialism, Venezuela, 21st century consumerism), their sound owes more to early Buzzcocks, The Clash and unjustly overlooked 80s left wing trailblazers (and faves of Nicky Wire), McCarthy.

Their mission to conquer the world was set on course sooner than anyone expected, when the demo version of Control Control was seized upon by Steve Lamacq who played the song repeatedly on his show. This helped Kutosis get gigs with the likes of Babyshambles, The Paddingtons, Victorian English Gentlemen’s Club and Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, won them a place on the Twisted by Design Cardiff compilation CD, This Town Ain't Big Enough for the 22 of Us, and begun to garner interest from several record labels. In the end the band decided to team up with a label equally disinclined to keep its (big) mouth shut, R*E*P*E*A*T Records, and their debut single is released on March 10th.

The band have gained favourable reviews from Steve Lamacq, and Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys/Alternative Tentacles fame offered to help the band distribute their music in the States. Here's what some other people say:
