Undercut have drawn comparisons with U2, The Police, The Foo Fighters and REM. One of the reasons for this was that their unique sound was, quite literally, born in an aircraft hanger, where the band spent months writing, rehearsing and developing their unique sound. Says Johnny "It turned us into stadium rockers. Seriously, it was huge, and we were whacking out songs just try to try and fill it. That's how we ended up with this immense sound".

In 2004 the band headed into the studio to record their first album with Ian Grimble, who has also produced albums for artists such as Travis, Mansun, The Las, Texas and Manic Street Preachers. Not wanting to put their fate into the hands of a major label, the band decided to take matters into their own hands and set up their own fully-fledged label, Distiller Records.

Whilst setting up their own label, writing, rehearsing and working to pay the bills, the band, now a live force to be reckoned with, have continued to gig regularly both in their home-town of Bristol, across the South-West and in London, and more recently, touring the UK with CherryFalls, The Wonder Stuff and The Leaves.
