Bio
New band based in Wolverhampton making experimental noise and really rather good post-rock type sounds. From the band's website:
"What The Moon Is Like formed in 2004.
Their eponymous debut release, recorded in two days at the tail end of July 2005, underscores the band's interest in a variety of forms of music. These influences range from awkwardly melodic post-punk, to drones and the use of noise most commonly associated with jazz and avant-rock, with a constant emphasis on trying to create interesting and originally structured songs.
The band have experimented with elements of improvisation and also field recordings, which were incorporated in their earliest attempts at recording, soon to be made available.
Aside from 'what the moon is like', the members of the band are also involved in a variety of other creative projects; and have an equal interest in both the current CD-R scene- characterised by home-run labels such as Opax and Chocolate Monk- and more established acts such as Mogwai, The Locust and Joy Division.
The aim of the band is to create music that challenges the conventions of genre and song and share it with like minded people and artists."
