The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
When I saw this band at The Lexington back in May, poised on the cusp of summer, I wrote that what they "sound like most is that giddy, giggling feeling of being young and in love in the sunshine".
Churning the shoegaze scene of the late eighties / early nineties up with a gloriously balanced boy-girl vocal equation, this is my album of the year simply because it's the record that's made me happiest. Who could ask for more?
