As one half of the terrific two-some Blood Red Shoes, vocalist and drummer Steve Ansell has been on one hell of an adventure. The second BRS album Fire Like This (Recommended: 9/10 Review) has just hit record stores, so we thought it about time with picked Steve's brain to discover what he's learnt over the past few years, shifting from the do-everything-yourself punk scene to the corporate-sponsored festival arenas. »

Few bands have been as lauded by DiS' writers and readers as The Icarus Line but then, few bands are as raw, resolute or run-you-over-'n-piss-on-your-scabby-wounds as LA's only true contemporary rock 'n' rollers (stick that down your No Age pipe and toke on it!).»

Breezy strings, doom-drenched death-metal, synth-pop, submerged harmonies, summery ukeleles and icy xylophones are - as this playlist attests - just some of the sounds of the Nordic region, compiled as part of Nordic Day to celebrate DiS curating a Nordic night tonight in London info.»
