Dear Indie bands

MrSib [Edit] [Delete] 16:00, 29 October '14

Could you please start to write some tunes again.

I don't want to sound like my Dad but what's happened to writing some good strong songs?
Perhaps if you did then you'd you'd actually sell some records and play venues bigger than a toilet. Having memorable tunes with catchy chorus's isn't a sign of selling out it's a sign of being a good band. Pixies, Smiths, Husker Du, JAMC, Cure etc all managed to create interesting forward thinking music without giving up on a tune, So why are nearly all modern indie bands obsessed with creating sonic wallpaper rather than a song people would actually like?
