last year was quite good wasn't it? d'angelo, tinashe, fatima, fka twigs, taylor mcferrin, little dragon, jessie ware, kelis and tinashe all put out albums ranging from 'pleasant' to 'lovely stuff'. even prince's solo effort wasn't total shit.
