I teach secondary pupils and have found that doing a poetry unit with song lyrics can be really worthwhile, primarily in that they find it so much more engaging.

I've taught Manic Street Preachers' '4st 7lbs' before, and Elbow's 'The Bones of You'. What else - appropriate, of course; remember what happened to that teacher who used Lil Wayne lyrics in the classroom? - would be a good call?
