I just spent time going back through all the mixtapes and the EPs and the new record, and Watsky is basically going to go down in history as the best conscious rapper that ever happened, maybe?

He's basically at the bottom of a funnel of genius - grown up listening to Busdriver, Sage etc and ended up with something genuinely wondrous, especially since he ditched the too-Eminem schtick. But his production style (and that of the producers he recruits) is just something else. Only just got to spend proper time with All You Can Do and I'm freaking out a bit.

I'm fully aware I might be alone in caring about any of this btw.
