Indie-ish albums that the whole family can enjoy

scream_to_a_million [Edit] [Delete] 16:53, 28 May '15

that are also good. By this I mean albums that when you listen to them, the feeling is a bit like sitting down with your family in the living room at 9pm, watching some ITV victorian romance drama or something, starring Timothy Spall and Jessica Hynes - are there any albums that do a similar job?

I mean albums that aren't necessarily challenging or even brilliant, just nice albums that are appropriate "for the family" (like the family in Outnumbered, except all the kids are teenagers and the parents are maybe a bit older), but are also pretty good and perfectly acceptable for hip youngsters to listen to as well.

I don't think there are any, to be honest. I think music in general as a form of entertainment is still too spikey "for the family".

Basically what I'm trying to flesh out here is the Harry Potter of music. Pretty good film series and families watch them, but it's alright for hip people to like as well.
