I really like Patrick Watson

He seems to a loyal but small following, but little presence otherwise (though I think Love Songs for Robots got quite a bit of praise recently).

In the chamber folk/pop canon he's not quite at sufjan level...but beyond that I'd say only John Grant has the same intricacy and melodic touch. It's like he's taken The National's songwriting approach and applied it to orchestral folk; songs that have more subtlety and conflicting emotions than immediacy.

Anyone else want to sing his praises? For the uninitiated, his last four albums are pretty much equally good, but Adventures In Your Own Backyard is probably the most immediately satisfying.
