Music Social More…

Reasonably famous bands / artists who completely lost it after one album.

This is off the back of hearing some new Foals tracks and reading the interview with them.

Those first two singles and then Antidotes were pretty decent, but I really feel like they've morphed into a sort of slightly heavier Snow Patrol or something. Yannis is better when he shouts and their guitars are nicer when they're bit twinkly and angular. They're just a bit soft rock now.

I'm sure there are loads of others (Bloc Party, Kings of Leon).

I suppose my question is, do you think bands are aware that they are becoming more anodyne? Like, do Foals genuinely think they are moving forward and changing for the better? Or are they just getting complacent or blind to their own diminishing returns?
