It's easy to forget how great The Stranglers were. Like many bands they've obviously hung around too long. All their albums up to Aural Sculpture are at least half decent - many of the earlier albums are quietly essential. The Raven is one of the most overlooked albums ever in my opinion, seldom referred to as the classic it is. I'd say it's their best album.
