Drowned in Sound's Year End Lists - Official Discussion/Complaints Thread

sean [Edit] [Delete] 19:08, 15 December '15

Hi All,

Starting this thread to link to from our year-end coverage. Feel free to gripe and go 'oooh, thanks for the introduction to Kathryn Joseph' and stuff like that, if you feel like it.

Last week, we revealed our favourite UK & Irish albums of the year http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/4149636-our-50-favourite-uk-albums-of-2015

And Dom Gourlay picked his favourite 10 gigs of the year, from the over 1500 acts he saw live this year (the guy is an amazing force of nature, I've met him at 1pm at festivals and he's already seen 5 or 6 acts, and by 1am he's telling me about after hours gigs. And it feels like almost every day on Facebook he posts about a post-work instore at Rough Trade in Nottingham, followed by shots of all 3 acts at Rock City or somewhere like that...) http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/4149633-10-shows-that-shook-2015

Coming tomorrow we will have our tracks of the year with a special Spotify playlist (any requests of where else I should export it to?).

Then on Thursday morning, our albums of the year list will be with you (I'm coding it right now, and it's going to take me about 5 hours....). Any predictions of what might do well? I'm taking into account our staff top 10s and votes on the forum poll as well as discussion throughout the year. It's not totally democratic, as I allow specialist knowledge and those more involved in the site to sway the approximate trends of what should be high up.

Don't forget, you can vote in the year end user poll here: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4470243
