Putting together my 2015 albums the the year I can easily imagine that in a year’s time it will look quite different as I reassess what I’ve heard and catch up on what I missed. Because I like listing so much I thought it would be fun to make my top 5 of 2014 again and compare and contrast. Here is my list from a year ago:

1. Ben Frost: AURORA
2. Ought: More Than Any Other Day
3. Ian William Craig: A Turn Of Breathe
4. Cloud Nothings: Here and No-Where Else
5. The Soft Pink Truth: Why Do Heathens Rage?

And this would be the list now:

1. Ian William Craig: A Turn Of Breathe
2. Trash Kit: Confidence
3. Loscil: Sea Island
4. Ben Frost: AURORA
5. Cloud Nothings: Here and Nowhere Else

Big Winners being Trash Kit (which I didn’t hear until this year as it was sneaked out in December 2014) which is a hugely fun album, and Loscil and IW Craig which have both wormed their way into my head. Losers being Ought who I got a bit bored with (particularly after seeing live a couple of times) and The Soft Pink Truth who I’ve barely returned to since 2014.
