Remember when emo was Jimmy Eat World rather than Fall Out Boy? Beautiful days, weren't they? Salt sweat, sugar on the asphalt, et cetera: much better than dance dance-ing.
So the follow-up to 2004's Futures can't come soon enough, really. And the good news: it's nearly done, say Jimmy Eat World insiders.
The four-piece have been working with Butch Vig in Arizona, and the producer told Billboard:
"The record is quite eclectic. There are three or four songs that sound like classic Jimmy Eat World, with angular, razor-sharp guitars. There are a couple that are a lot more dreamy, and some that are very groove-acious. Anybody who is fan will like this record."
The album's scheduled for a summer release. It doesn't have a title, yet. DiS would like to suggest Jimmy Eat World Battles The Evil Space Aliens And The Evil Emo Imposters And Spreads Pop Emo Joy And Love Across The Cosmos.
It'll probably be self-titled, then.
