Definitive? Hype Machine compiles top 50 artists, singles, albums of 2007

Imperious internet ‘blog reservoir the Hype Machine has looked on with quiet mirth as hacks have scrambled to dredge their opinions into ream upon ream of end of year list. Enough. “Stand back,” says the site. “Give them some room to breathe. I am the best jukebox in the world, and it is I and I alone that shall compile the definitive top 50 singles, albums and artists of 2007.”

Fair enough. Here are the top ten albums and artists, find the full 50s next to emboldened hyperlinks. For singles, you’ll have to browse here, their selections aren’t rankable. Still, the Hype Machine sampled over 600 ‘blogs for the findings below:
