Family affairs: indie label auctions Blood Red Shoes sevens for charity
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver April 17th, 2008

Fine indie label Jonson Family is auctioning a pair of Blood Red Shoes' debut 7"s on eBay, with the money going to a charity of the band's own choosing.

'Victory For The Magpie', backed by ‘Bless His Heart’ and ‘Don’t Always Say Yes’, was released in the summer of 2005 and is sold out. Save for these two records. Which you can bid for here and here.

Says the label:

What happened was this: we moved from London, England, all the way down the Somerset, England. In the move, whilst chucking piles of detritus away, we unearthed two copies of the BRS 7”. We thought they'd all gone. Honest. So we spoke to Mr Steve Ansell of BRS fame before one of their recent sold-out dates in Cardiff, Wales, and mentioned we'd be up for selling them on eBay and giving the money to whatever charity the band want. Aren't we the Bob Geldof of cruddy small labels, eh? There were 330 pressed. The band screen printed the sleeves. Some were red, some were black. Both these two are black. So here we are. Two copies. Unplayed. Mint. Go for it. The charity will be added on here once we know it. The band is busy now but will get back to us. We're not busy. We're drinking cider. Yours, Jonson Family Rekkids.
