When packaged up with the original entity, it more than anything affirms the vitality of the original tracks.»

without a doubt one of the album's of the year, 'swim' has now been spruced up with a bonus disc of 11 remixes by some of the finest electronic producers around. it features mixes by junior boys, motor city drum ensemble, gold panda, nite jewel, ikonika etc. caribou mastermind dan snaith's latest recording sees him getting busy in the basement with an album that is intricate, layered, twisted and totally essential. like the recent four tet album, snaith has made similar tweaks to the caribou dynamic. it ranges from the pulsing, balladic acid-house crooner 'kali' to the the jazzed up experimental noise of 'up in flames', the cavernous oil drums, sleigh bells, blips, and guitars of the downcast 'found out' and the dreamy psychedelic animal collective style swirl of 'andorra'. this is an ambitious album of real depth that deserves you're attention.
