second album from the critically acclaimed new york group. delicate steve's debut album 'wondervisions' was critically hailed across the board - from a lead review in the new york times, to npr, to blogs like stereogum and the fader. the record made a minor ripple but those who heard it fell in love with it. it made npr's year end list, and made delicate steve a favorite among a cadre of bands including yeasayer, ra ra riot, akron family, and dirty projectors - many of whom either brought the band on the road with them, or went out of their way to turn folks on to the burgeoning instrumental unit. positive force explodes the promise of wondervisions. a response to taking a bedroom record out into the world and performing in front of large crowds, positive force is a much bigger record sonically than the debut. what is becoming a signature command of melody - that thing that allows you to sing these wordless songs out loud, and rejoice while doing it - is front and center here.
