This, Soft Parade's second release, sees them move away from the more experimental side of things and concentrate on a much more radio friendly sound

Tis a shame, for this was exactly what I congratulated them on for the debut single. This aside, 'Empty At The End' is a wonderfully melodic tune, with some distinct, almost Americana vocal. The song is persistantly working itself up for the big choruses and although perhaps somewhat more throwaway than their debut, it is certainly pleasant.

The flipside, 'Sumatran' clocking in at a mere 1.56 mins, again is free flowing easy listening indie pop on that seemingly commerical level. Always going to be the b-side, the distorted vocals that outlines the simple tuneage is nothing at all out of the ordinary.

Positively for Soft Parade, this should sell more than their previous effort. Sadly for me, it has taken away my desire for more.
