Björk

Pagan Poetry

Label: One Little Indian Release Date: 05/11/2001

12236
bstefani by Becky Stefani October 25th, 2001

With a twinkle from a music box and a haunting la la la vocal, Bjorks latest offering reels us further into her world of ice maidens, fairies and magic roundabouts. Although not as instant as previous compositions, Bachelorette or Army Of Me, Pagan Poetry is arguably Bjorks most haunting and personal work to date. I DARE you to listen to the desperate, hypnotic refrain of “I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him…” without developing a wee lump in your throat. You old romantic you! Listening to this song is like reading pages from Bjorks diary, or looking deep into her soul. In this age of overblown sentiment and faux emotion, all this honesty feels uncomfortable - yet strangely compelling. You should buy this. It might move you.
