The Supernaturals

Life Is a Motorway

Label: Koch Records Release Date: 15/07/2002

2044
athomas by Andy (quirk) Thomas July 14th, 2002

This can not be The Supernaturals. A band previously best known for writing the internet bank approved britpop single, 'Smile', 'Life Is A Motorway' is either inspiration or mental breakdown. Gone is the authentic guitar/bass/drum setup of old. In comes a whacking great synth line stolen from The Bloodhound Gang's 'The Bad Touch', a disco drum machine, and the male voice choir from The Pet Shop Boys' 'Go West'. Whilst the electronics buzz and the men sing like their coal mine was still open the actual lyrics conclude that life really is a motorway,to quote "all the little cars go beep beep beep, all the little passengers fast asleep". Pardon? Sort of like Baxendale crossed with Space and a novelty function band. Not good.
