As previously noted on this here website, The Psychedelic Breakfast have a rubbish name. This two song EP’s title, ‘Always Tripping, Always Stoned’, is just as bad. Professional Hippies? Most probably, but thankfully they have some rather ace tunage to go with it. The two songs here ‘Always Tripping’ and ‘Uncontrollable Soul’ both have a melodic excellence underpinned by a vaguely prog-ish sense of the epic. Think the more indie moments of ‘Screamadelica’, or The Byrds jamming with the Happy Mondays’** rhythm section.
