Returning with another single lifted from their cool-as-cats ‘Home From Home’ album (and another nifty new logo for the shirt-bootleggers to nick next time they return to these shores) *_‘Battery Check’ *seems a sensible choice as one of the album’s stand-out tracks. While it’s mid-paced tempo may tempt an unexpected yawn, it’s heart-warming pre-chorus and refreshing lyricism (“When will I life my life for me? / When will I do what I want to? / When will I let myself be free / And take care of the things that I value?’_) is definately a welcome change for the kids from their current girl/boy dilemma diet.
It also seems one for MC collectors with the inclusion of a Swedish version of 'Battery Check' as B-side, ‘E2O Norr’, (despite being presented as a brand new track). Second B-side _‘Bowmore’ _is, however, a brand new track and more in the swing of Millencolin’s usual catchiness, equalling many of the songs from their album. Personally though, given the band’s proclivity for heavy metal I’ve been kinda hoping for some kind of tribute in their B-sides - but, alas, not yet.
You hear that Nikola?
