Every now and then a song comes along that… blah blah blah. How many times have you seen that phrase and thought this must be the best record since the dawn of the crotchet, only to be disappointed with the half-baked, un-emotive shite you eventually end up hearing? With that in mind, it is extremely satisfying that ‘Worry About The Wind’ is one of those records that comes along and just fits. HAL’s debut is stunning. Vocals that reach, guitars and keys that twinkle and a melody you cannot deny is as infectious and addictive as the hazy summer evenings this tune is destined to inhabit.

On the evidence of this track alone, earlier comparisons to other contemporary ‘sunshine’ bands become futile and boring. The Beach Boys, Neil Young and a nod to Dylan’s epic 'Forever Young' are all in there. The Allen brothers’ singing is exquisite and the production is flawless. Not for those who crave background music for destruction and carnage, but as a song - that’s a song – it’s just wonderful.
