Lou Reed has done about three good albums. One of which would be a compilation. Not including Metal Machine Music which is beautiful in an utterly awful way.

John Cale has done loads of great stuff and is basically responsible (along with david bowie) for anyone giving a shit about Lour reed in the first place.
