those threads where the title is just a 'qualification' for bands or songs?

Eg. "Bands Named After Songs". Or that kind of thing. "Songs containing references to other songs." "Artists who used to be in bands, but are now solo."

I glance at the odd one, and its just endless lists of bands or songs meeting the boring criteria. Why do people post in them? Do you actually read what anyone else has said?
