this year is totally failing to excite me.... last year's choices: the spinto band, young knives (annoyingly clashing with the mighty midlake), tapes n tapes, howling belles, even clearlake. had a great time. this year i've listened via myspace to loads of the bands listed (the hyped ones: the besnard lakes, annuals, land of talk, iliketrains, kissaway trail, cut off your hands, jakobinarina)..... currently hugely underwhelmed. as for the magic numbers, the rakes and willy mason... give me a break! only artists of interest so far are findlay brown, popup, found and cocoon (as one of their songs sounds like elliott smith).
