Funeral Marches (and another reason why the internet is wonderful)

Filip [Edit] [Delete] 21:16, 25 June '07

I was listening to Rain Dogs by Tom Waits earlier and when it came to Anywhere I Lay May Head I, as is often the case, thought to myself "Heavens above, this is surely one of the greatest recordings of the entire 20th century" and "this is surely the best album closer I have ever heard" and "I wish I had more funeral march type songs in my collection".

I went to Allmusic, as one does, and read their little mini review about the song. I agreed with it fully and felt even more like I wanted to hear more funeral march type songs.

I was going to post a thread on here asking people to name some and then...

I looked at the bottom of the song review and found the following under the list of records the song appears on:

Not only is it what looks like a fantastic compilation DEVOTED ENTIRELY TO FUNERAL MARCHES. But it has Anywhere I Lay May Head as the final track! And it's got amazing reviews everywhere (I wonder if that's Jethro Tull Ian Anderson quoted)

I am therefore getting a copy this second.

Just thought I'd share that with you. Have a pleasant evening please.
