planned encores

restlessboy [Edit] [Delete] 12:09, 29 June '07

what is the point of them? honestly?

saving one or two songs that you know people really want to hear then going off and making everyone clap so you come back out. cuntish.

I've done genuine encores in the past but I've never once put a song aside specially in case i get asked for one. when a crowd actually genuinely wants an encore because they're so impressed it's great. but not when it's just a going through the motions for both band and crowd.

I just think it's incredibly egotistical and tedious.

if you want a break in your set then have an interval. that's fine.

like i saw calexico in manchester last year who had clearly saved 'crystal frontier' for the SECOND encore. but they did the first one and the crowd just basically got bored of clapping and dissipated. you could even see joey waiting to come out! but the encore never happened.

pathetic.

y/n?
