As DiS is getting a makeover sometime in the near future, I thought I would chronicle and reflect on the past designs the site has gone through. This interests me as I founded/edit a music webzine (url in profile) and DiS has been a big influence on its design and style.

2001. The first iteration of DiS. Interesting that it used to have book and film reviews too.

2002. One year on. The colour scheme has stayed the same but it had a bit of a reshuffle. DiS has a 'single of the week' column.

2003. The site layout has changed to a centralized layout.

2005. DiS introduces the news column with 'witty' headlines. Moves back to left-aligned design.

After that it more or less went on to look roughly how it looks today. Sort of. Not very concise or exhaustive I'm sure you'll agree, but I find it interesting to see how a music website changes to become a success over time.

What do you think the new incarnation will look like? The same? Total redesign?
