How terribly irritating is accent over-emphasis?

Its like they're really keen that everyone knows they're from MANCHESTAAAAAAAAA.
Oasis were fine. Liam's accent was subtle, but you could tell he was from Manchester from the odd pronunciation.
But this is really boring. Bad band. Named after a Northern Soul club, and playing The Enemy music. Not good.
