Downloaded mp3s: Is there a way of finding out the sound quality of them?

dove_from_above [Edit] [Delete] 01:21, 3 August '07

I'm not technically minded. In fact, I'm laughably woeful at most things that revolve around 'knowing stuff'

If I've downloaded an mp3 (off Hype Machine, for example) is there any way of telling the quality of it? Basically, I want to know whether or not something will sound absolutely awful if I play through a large soundsystem, such as in a club

I'm well aware that 'playing it and seeing what it sounds like' seems like an option, but that's not particularly plausible in this case. I can't exactly test EVERY mp3 before playing it, as I have not the time nor the inclination

Does any of this post make any sense? Any of it at all?
