Lift to Experience - The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads

flackcaptain [Edit] [Delete] 15:27, 10 August '07

I've only just gotten hold of this and finding it extremely addictive listening. Its been a long time since I've become so absorbed in an album so soon after getting it.

It is quite self-indulgent in places with all those Texan references but that I think that is what adds to its charm. I didn't realise Pearsons vocal abilities were quite so impressive either. From his 2 solo shows I've seen his voice has always sounded a little monotone and held back.

It is clear to me now why so many post rock bands quote these guys as an influence. That sound may have been innovotive back in 2001 but it is everywhere now.

Anyone else on here rate it?
