Live reworkings of songs

Podge9 [Edit] [Delete] 10:07, 16 August '07

What are people's takes on when bands rework one of their tracks for the live stage?
I'm talking about speeding it up, or slowing it down, or playing it in a different key etc.

I saw Sparta last night and whilst they were absolutely superb, the played a toned down version of Collapse which happens to be my favourite song of theirs. It wasn't bad but I think it lost a lot of its punch.

I'm happy for bands to change stuff live, it can be boring to hear the albums note for note but i think there's certain songs you should just leave alone.
