Being "eclectic"

This thread made me think about this:

a) Is eclectic the most frequently mis-used word in music discussions?

b) Is saying you're taste is eclectic the musical equalivalent of saying "I'm mad, me. Absolutely crazy. Last week I wore this tie to work, right, and it had Homer Simpson on it!!!"?
