I once heard a mentally ill man in a record shop explaining to the counter staff that it was impossible to have a decent taste in music if you didn't like both metal and jazz. Otherwise this leaves you in a poor position to be able to appreciate the whole range of sounds that music offers us.

I think he may have had a point.
