gig promoting advice

yous [Edit] [Delete] 23:15, 27 December '07

The lowdown: I'm promoting a gig next saturday. All well and good right? So - problem is, it's on 5th January, quite close to NYE.

But being so, would people still come along to a gig in Hoxton on a saturday night. I have quite a strong line-up for the night, if not probably THE strongest in London on the night - South Central and Nic Nell live.

I guess my point here is: are people generally gonna be too skint to go out? will everyone be desperate to go gigging after 2 weeks or so? I've had very mixed responses from folks that I've asked too. So I'm just after a general thought as to what you guys think..

Your thoughts please. Oh, and to JAG, http://www.drownedinsound.com/event/view/32368

I thank you.
