tonight in soapy's semi-regular late night hype sessions: sigur ros

having just watched the sigur ros film i've been reminded why this still stands as the most spectacular thing i've seen played at a gig.
i've seen a lot of bands, some very very good ones, but this was breathtaking.

the moody ambience, the simple drum pattern that builds into a few great climaxes before crashing to the end.

it's also part of the reason i've found bands like yndi halda such a bore when i've seen them recently.
