recording things with my 8 track

penny_racer [Edit] [Delete] 14:50, 3 January '08

Hello thar.

i'm taking my bandmates up to my wee house and we're gonna try and cobble something together.

i'm most worried about recording drums, i mean, i'm not limited to 8 tracks per se as I can bounce them together BUT how do i get half decent results when I can only run two mics max simultaneously?

Just stick the mics in the corner of a room and go for it???

Theres not really any scope for editing on my 8 track (Zoom Mrs-802) so I figure theres gonna be alot of background noise too. Would running the mics through a compressor help?

I'm pretty dumb with this stuff.
