Being unable to take a critical view on a band's output

yes_ [Edit] [Delete] 21:26, 27 January '08

Anyone else have this problem?
It seems for any band I love, I am unable to be properly critical about.

For example, radiohead are probably my favourite band, and although I have a favourite album, I rate "prove yourself" off Pablo Honey equally as high as Motion Picture Soundtrack. It seems that for a band I love, I'm unable to take a detached enough emotional standpoint to differentiate between what's actually "good" or not.

It definitely makes listening to music more enjoyable (I imagine), but is really unhelpful when it comes to nerding over which *insert indie band* B-side is the best.

Makes me seem "uncool" or something. If Morrissey released a drone album, i'd probably still say it was as good as anything else ever.
