Having always been into finding good music but never being into the collecting nerdieness i have went from being a kid who went about record shops trying to find some good shit to spend the money from my paper round on to a downloader who sends the stuff i don't like straight to the trash can.
it seems people are concerned about the way we now consume music. i think artists and critics have this high regard for pop/rock music that it doesn't really deserve. how many of those so called classic albums of yester year are you gonna keep listening to? I got sick of the Beatles awile ago. i got sick of sabbath a while ago. i got sick of techno etc. there are very few albums worth listening to over a period of years. of course there are those albums you want to revisit every once in a while but most i feel are quite disposable after some months?
to test this theory i checked my stacks of CDs and would say about 50% i would never miss.
